Lux means Light !

The brand was founded by the Lever Brothers (today known as Unilever) in 1899 as Laundry Soap. The name changed from “Sunlight Flakes” to “Lux” in 1900, a Latin word for “light” and suggestive of “luxury.”

Since the 1930s, more than 400 of the world’s most famous female celebrities have been associated with Lux.
